Volunteer Fingerprinting Schedule

In an effort to create a safer and more secure environment for girls, a volunteer screening process has been established for adult volunteers. As of October 1, 2005, the new volunteer application and guidelines came into effect. There are three levels of volunteers; level 3 volunteers are required to complete a criminal background check (fingerprint) in addition to completing a volunteer application and registering as members of the organization.

Volunteers in the following positions must be fingerprinted in order to work with a troop/group: troop/group leader, advisor, assistant leader, co-op leader, money manager, overnight helper, product sales chair, driver, travel troop chaperone, event director, day camp volunteer, Service Unit Leader Support Manager, Troop Development, and Program Support Manager, Service Unit Registrar and Treasurer.

Important Deadlines

New Volunteers: Must be fingerprinted and cleared before working with a troop or group

Returning Volunteers: Money Managers, Product Sales Chairs (within Troop/Group and Service Unit Level) and Overnight Chaperones with an approved volunteer application on record must be fingerprinted by September 30, 2007. Please note that travel troop chaperones must be fingerprinted and have completed the volunteer application prior to going on a trip.

Providing a background check is necessary to complete the volunteer screening process. If you have completed the volunteer application but have not been fingerprinted, you have not completed the screening process; individuals with incomplete applications will not be permitted to help the troop/group.
