Please join the San Jose Fire Department at one or more of our Fire Station Open Houses. Learn about the importance of smoke alarms, exit drills in the home, when to call 9-1-1, and many more subjects while enjoying quality time with your family!

The World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions


The Lipizzaner Stallions are on their 38th Anniversary Tour in 2008. In 1970, Producer Gary Lashinsky created a new family arena attraction, starring The "World Famous" LIPIZZANER STALLIONS. Watch one of the greatest equine ballets in history where the Lipizzaner Stallions perform spectacular leaps and maneuvers. Horse of battle, Horse of ballet.

Attend the Pre-Clinic at 12:15pm to learn training techniques, grooming and tacking!

NBC 11 & Telemundo 48 Tours

Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts are invited to a workshop to build “A Fairy’s Retreat” in miniature. Girls may want to bring spending money to shop at the Children’s Sales Table at the show where we have miniature items priced for a child’s budget.

Who: All Girl Scouts Grades 2-12 Troops/Groups
What: NBC 11 & Telemundo 48 Tours
When: Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:45am and 2:45pm
NBC requests that you arrive 10 minutes before your assigned tour start time.

Girl/Adult Ratio: One adult per 9 girls. Only those with names submitted in advance will be admitted to the tour.

Winchester Mystery House: Exclusive Girl Scout Programs

Troop Leaders, your scouts can earn badges while discovering one of the most bizarre legends in California history... the Winchester Mystery House! Your troop will take a fun and educational trip back in time as they tour through Sara Winchester's 160-room Victorian mansion! Girls can meet the following badge requirements:

Brownie: Listening to the Past
Junior: Architecture; Local Lore
Cadette & Senior: Heritage Hunt; Women through Time

What: Admission includes a 65-minute guided Mansion Tour, self-guided Garden Tour, Historic Firearms Museum, and Antique Products Museum. Group Lunches also available at a low cost.

Monterey Hostel Programs

Attention Girl Scout Leaders, Volunteers and Program Coordinators! Looking for a Thinking Day program? Or, do you just want to get away? Consider the Cultural Kitchen and Getaway programs being offered at the Monterey Hostel.  The Monterey Hostel is located just 3 blocks from the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, onsite free parking, with a grocery store one block away.

Cultural Kitchen Program For Girl Scouts: The Cultural Kitchen program's exciting curriculum empowers girls to study a foreign country's culture, culminating in a meal prepared by the group that is shared with travelers and is a great way to enhance an overnight stay at a hostel. Girls can complete the Cultural Kitchen program with guidance from their advisor, homework and cultural learning activities at the hostel. Monterey Getaway: A one to three night trip for group sizes up to 30 during October through May, and groups up to 16 June through September. Trips start at $ 45.00 per girl per night and include an overnight(s) at Monterey Hostel, self-serve pancake breakfast, a “discover the world” patch, a Hostelling International youth membership, and a two day ticket to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Gilroy Gardens Camp Nights 2007-2008

Camp Overnights:
Come and experience camping in an exciting and safe environment that combines the beauty of magnificent gardens with the appeal and excitement of a traditional family theme park! Gilroy Gardens features over 40 family rides, attractions, gardens and educational exhibits.

When:
Check in on the following dates is at 4:00 - 6:00pm, and girls leave by 3:00pm the next day.
