Q: Can a girl sign up for a program/event without her troop or if
she is not in a troop?
A: Yes! A girl can sign up independent of her troop. A girl can
also sign-up for a program if she is neither in a troop or a Girl
Scout, and she then needs to become a member by registering them
for the event with the Program Event Registration Form and include
a Membership Registration Form and the $10 annual Girl Scout membership
fee.
Q: Can a girl bring a non-Girl Scout friend
to a program/event?
A: Yes! Siblings and friends are welcome to join us if they meet
the age requirement of the program. The friend simply needs to register
for the event with the Program Event Registration Form and include
a Membership Registration Form and the $10 annual Girl Scout membership
fee. The membership fee is paid once yearly (October - September).
Please do not bring children who are not within the age requirement
(also known as Tagalongs) unless otherwise noted in the event description.
Q: Do adults have to attend programs/events?
A: Please see the girl/adult ratio that is specified under each
program description. Unless it is clearly noted, a minimum of 2
adults must accompany every troop. Please note not
only the minimum, but also the maximum number of adults
that are allowed. 1 adult with every 1-5 Daisies, 1-6
Brownies, 1-8 Juniors, 1-10 Cadettes and 1-12 Seniors. A girl registering
individually or without her troop must have an adult accompany her
unless otherwise specified. Our primary goal is to provide programs
for girls. As a result ther may not be space for additional adults
above the aforementioned ratio.
Q: How does
a girl apply for a financial scholarship?
A: Financial assistance is available for all programs unless
noted. Financial scholarships are available for girls who are individually
registering for events and girls who are registering with their
troop. An individual girl is eligible to apply for three scholarships
during the year and scholarships are limited to girls only. When
submitting the appropriate event registration form, please also
submit the Financial Scholarship
Form. Event registration cannot be processed until both forms
are received.
Note: You must submit registrations that include Financial
Scholarship requests via mail
or fax; we cannot process them through our online registration
process.
Q:
How does a girl use event credit?
A: Event credit is issued to girls who have participated at a certain
level in the Council product sales. To use event credit, please
include the event credit number and amount on your registration
form in the appropriate location. Troop Leaders: It is important
that the event credit be directly connected to the girls who will
be using it. Please note expiration date on event credit. Adults
cannot use event credit. All Family Programs are excluded from event
credit.
Note: You must submit registrations that include Event
Credits via mail or fax;
we cannot process them through our online registration process.
Q: What if a girl cannot attend the program?
A: If a girl who was originally registerd cannot attend the event,
leaders may substitute another girl from the troop to take her place,
but you must call the Council and inform us of the substitution.
If a girl cannot attend and there is no substitution to be made,
please call the Council office as soon as possible so we can place
someone from the waiting list in the event -- "no shows" deprive
other girls the opportunity to attend events. If a refund is requested
prior to receiving the postcard confirmation for the event, you
will receive the refund less a $5 non-refundable, per person, processing
fee. Fees for confirmed participants are non-refundable. Full refunds
will be given if girls cannot be placed in the event of their choice.
