How to Register

Registration began February 1, 2008. Please note that many programs are not full on the first day of registration and we will continue to accept registrations after that date. All registration received after the first day of registration will be placed on a first-come first-served basis.

Online registration is available for girls attending the following camps: Bothin, Deer Lake, Hidden Falls, Camp Metro, Skylark Ranch, and Sugar Pine

Registration for Camps in the “Other Summer Adventures” Section

Buddies

If two campers wish to be placed together in the same program as “buddies” they must both meet all program requirements. Please list “buddies” in the “Camper Buddies” section of the paper form and mail or fax their registration forms together. Note: Online registration does not allow you to register with a buddy.

Attempts will be made to honor their request, although it may not be possible to place more then two girls together. Please remember that camp is a time to enjoy old friends but also a time to make new ones.

Fees are different for each camp program and session. Please refer to the camp brochure, or the Program Dates & Fees section for each camp:

Deposits

A $100 deposit is required for each camp and session registration submitted. The deposit will not be refunded after camp registration is confirmed. NOTE: If you register online, you will automatically be charged the deposit fee, even if you are on the wait list. If you are not placed in the program, the deposit will be refunded.

Payment of Fees

You can pay the balance of the registration fee at the time of registration or pay a $100 deposit at the time of registration and the balance three weeks before the opening day of the camp session you have chosen.

Special Fees

If your camper resides inside the Girl Scouts of Northern California boundaries, but was not a registered Girl Scout in the 2008 registration year (starts October 2007), there will be an additional $10 membership fee.

If your camper resides outside of the Girl Scouts of Northern California boundaries, an additional $50 fee will be added to her camper fee. This additional fee also covers Girl Scout registration if she is not already registered.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance towards camp fees is available to girls who qualify.

The financial assistance form AND the camp application forms must be filled out completely. Financial assistance is not available to those who register online.

Financial aid is available on a sliding scale for girls who live within the Girl Scouts of Northern California boundaries and who qualify. Financial aid is based on need, income, family size and this must be clearly reflected on the form.

Confirmation of Registration

Camp registrations are confirmed once they are placed in the Girl Scout computer system regardless of whether you have received a confirmation letter. A placement confirmation letter and additional camper packet will be sent to you approximately three weeks after your camp registration has been confirmed and no sooner than February 15, 2008. Camper packets will contain dates, session, program, transportation information, suggested equipment list, health forms, insurance information and more. Please remember to read through this packet carefully as it contains important information for both campers and parents.

Refund Policy

If your selected camp session(s) are full, and no alternative can be found or if the financial aid amount requested is not fully granted, the total amount paid will be refunded. The $100 deposit will not be refunded after camp registration is confirmed. The balance of the camp fee will be refunded only if:

No refunds will be made if the camper does not attend her camp session for any other reason. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Girl Scouts of Northern California no later than August 30, 2008.
